Why Kiln-Dried Firewood?
Kiln dried is heat treated, not left in the elements to release moisture slowly like seasoned firewood . It's free of pests, significantly cleaner, produces a fire with a higher temperature with a better movement and flicker and starts much easier. Kiln-dried also produces less creosote buildup in your chimney.
It is, by far, superior firewood.

We believe in giving back to our community and others in need. In order to show this, we've chosen charities that we know and love. When you buy firewood from Holy Smoke, you are giving back too! We are thankful that we're able to do this and know that our customers love that when they purchase firewood from HSF they are also helping others! We couldn't do it without you!

Holy Smoke Firewood is supporting LeGrandMission, a non profit organization based in Orland Park, Illinois. LeGrandMission has been working to help improve the lives of those in need, both in the U.S and in countries like Haiti, Bolivia, and Costa Rica. LeGrandMission is in the process of building an orphanage in Costa Rica and is raising funds to buy property and start construction. If you would like to be a part, please let us know!
In January 2021, three members of Holy Smoke traveled down to Bolivia through LeGrandMission NFP, Inc., to visit an orphanage. We stayed at the orphanage for a week, learned a lot, met amazing people and formed a plan for an orphanage LeGrandMission plans on building in Costa Rica.

HSF, along with LeGrandMission, traveled to Costa Rica in February of 2021 to look for a location of an orphanage to be built in the image of the one we visited in Bolivia.
Some pictures of the trip are on this page. Our customers and the donations to LeGrandMission make this possible.

In 2018, Some members of Holy Smoke were able to help others by serving in Haiti with Unforgotten Project. Unforgotten Project is involved in clean water projects, schools, feeding programs, and much more. Unforgotten Project was founded by Amanda Pettit who has lived and served with her family in the countries of Haiti, El Salvador, Dominica and the U.S.

Holy Smoke Firewood also partners with LeGrandMission, NFP Inc. an organization that sends groups of people to areas that have a need, inside and outside the United States. Recently, LeGrandMission partnered with a college student's charity to fill backpacks with necessary items to give to those most in need, the homeless. Before that, LeGrandMission sent a team to Costa Rica to build dorm rooms on the slopes of San Pedro de Poás and to build a disabled accessible bathroom at a nearby school. Another team will be sent in June of 2022 with a group of adults, teens and children to hold a sports camp for neighborhood children in the Alajuela province and to work on the orphanage project.

HSF has been able to serve during packing events with Feed My Starving Children that feeds children and families all over the world. In the charity's lifetime, people have packed and sent over 2 Billion meals. Over 90% of donations is spent directly on feeding programs. Holy Smoke donates funds to help pay for food and helps by taking part in FMSC packing events.

Last year, Holy Smoke also donated to a local charity Hope and Friendship Foundation, based in Lemont, Illinois. Led by Terri O'Neill-Borders, Hope and Friendship Foundation helps in many ways, from providing meals to the hungry, to providing crisis assistance to those in need, year round. Hope and Friendship Foundation is truly a bright light in Lemont!

The LeGrand Family served in Central America for 3 years, bringing groups to Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua to build buildings, repair and serve in schools, build homes, and help those in need.
We continue to help others using proceeds from Holy Smoke Firewood.
